The main products manufactured by Nicolaides & Kountouris Metal Company Ltd comply with the European Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC), are governed by Harmonized European Standards, and bear the CE marking as well as the necessary Declarations of Performance.

EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 Certification: Execution of steel structures
EN ISO 3834-2:2005 Certification: Fusion welding of steel materials
Nicolaides & Kountouris Metal Company Ltd is certified according to EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 and EN ISO 3834-2:2005 standards for all its steel products and constructions. We have a designated Visual Quality Inspector, certified welders, as well as certified welding methods from NORTEST Inspection and Certification Centre.
Under Regulation 305/2011 of the European Parliament and the EU Council, the application of the EN ISO 1090 standards, which includes the CE marking of structural steel products and constructions, is mandatory and binding across Europe. The CE marking allows a product to be legally placed on the market of any European Union member state. Nicolaides & Kountouris Metal Company Ltd, is in full compliance with the relevant regulation.
We have been certified according to the EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 standard after successfully completing a thorough conformity assessment of our factory’s manufacturing processes and controls. The certification covers the design, production, and corrosion protection of steel elements up to the EXC3 execution class. In addition, we have been certified according to the EN ISO 3834-2:2005 standard which means we have all the quality requirements for fusion welding of steel materials both in our factory and at field installation sites.

Nicolaides & Kountouris Metal Company Ltd is certified with ISO 45001:2018 for the Health & Safety Management System developed and implemented in the workplace. The system aims to ensure a work environment that minimizes health and safety risks for employees, collaborators, visitors, and customers of the company.
The company was originally certified with OHSAS 18001:2007 standard but in 2020 it was upgraded and gradually transitioned to ISO 45001:2018 standard.
In compliance with ISO 45001:2018, our company:
-Provides training to every new employee on safety issues at work.
-Provides all personnel with their Personal Protective Equipment and the necessary training for their proper use.
-Analyses and presents the risks that may arise at the workplace so that employees can recognize them and take necessary protective measures.
-Organizes safety training for all personnel on a regular basis.

A shining example is the design and manufacture of innovative equipment for the reuse of polyurethane and polystyrene waste to produce two environmentally friendly, easy to use, and high-quality products (THERMINK and PS THERMINK). Moreover, the technology behind this innovative equipment is made available to other businesses that wish to invest in circular economy.
As part of the company's commitment to environmentally responsible operations, Nicolaides & Kountouris Metal Company Ltd has developed and implemented an Environmental Management System certified with the international standard ISO14001:2015.
In compliance with ISO14001:2015, our company:
- Strictly adheres to the current legislation and regulations, maintaining all the necessary permits for its operations.
- Draws and implements Waste Management procedures for all its activities.
- Separates solid waste into recyclables, regular waste, and waste requiring special treatment. The waste management is carried out by licensed companies with whom the company has signed relevant agreements.
- Invests in equipment with reduced energy consumption.
- Replaces company vehicles used by its personnel with lower emission ones.
- Educates its personnel on environmentally friendly work practices helping them recognise the hazards and the impact if these practices were not implemented.
- Conducts environmental measurements when and where required.
